PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for analyzing an audio signal by which the kind of the audio signal can be analyzed. SOLUTION: The audio signal analyzing method includes parameter calculation processing for calculating feature parameters by analyzing the audio signal, frame by frame, variation rate calculation processing for calculating the temporal variation rate of the feature parameters obtained by the parameter calculation processing by taking recursive analysis of the feature parameters by the frames over at least two frames, and signal analysis processing for analyzing the kind of the input signal with the value of the temporal variation rate of the feature parameters calculated through the variation rate calculation processing. The device is applied with the analyzing method.
