The components contain an inter-granular glass phase. The electrical field is generated using (non-)contacting electrodes and a (pulsed) dc current or a monochromatic or multi-chromatic ac current within the microwave region. Super- plastic deformation involves forming the desired component geometry by plastic deformation of a partially or fully pre-compacted body using pressure, tensile and/or shear force. Heat treatment is carried out at a temperature greater than that required for super-plastic deformation. The end product contains long and narrow interwoven particles.
