Hollow polymer particles which have an average particle diameter of 15 mu m to 500 mu m and a 10 % compression strength of 1.5 MPa or more, and have each an interior hollow portion; and a porous ceramic filter which is prepared by providing a mixture comprising a ceramic composition and, dispersed therein, the hollow polymer particles, forming the mixture, and firing the formed product.
