A pluggable transceiver module (10) having a housing (11) with a first side (34) and a face (42) perpendicular to the first side (34), and a tab (32) extending above the surface of the first side sized to mate with a slot in a receptacle (12) for the housing, a wedge (36) slidably mounted on the first side proximate the tab (32), and a lever (38) attached to the wedge (36) extending beyond the face (42) of the housing, wherein pressing the lever (38) causes the wedge (36) to slide between the tab (32) and the slot (22) on the receptacle and remove the tab (32) from within the slot (22), thereby releasing the transceiver module (10) from the receptacle (12), and the lever (38) further including a recess (40) enabling a person to at least partially insert a fingernail to easily grip and remove the pluggable transceiver module (10) from the receptacle (12). |
