Device (10) for dosing substances into a liquid stream, especially scale inhibitors into a water stream, comprises: (1) a reservoir (16) holding a solution of the substance; (2) a dosing channel (14) for the liquid stream running between an inlet (30) and an outlet (32); and (3) a microporous separating wall (18) separating the reservoir from the dosing channel. Device (10) for dosing substances into a liquid stream, especially scale inhibitors into a water stream, comprises: (1) a reservoir (16) holding a solution of the substance; (2) a dosing channel (14) for the liquid stream running between an inlet (30) and an outlet (32); and (3) a microporous separating wall (18) separating the reservoir from the dosing channel for diffusing particles from the substance solution into the liquid stream.
