A vehicle door consists of an outer sheet metal layer and an inner sheet metal layer with an opening which is closed off by a planar seal, and a door inner lining. The inner lining (6) has a fixing unit (11,12) to which the planar seal (7) is attached. The planar seal is a PE foam mat and the seal consists of PUR cord.
