The method involves preparing the roof trusses (2) each having a cross support (10) with bearing face (30) for the purlins (50,52), two posts (12,14) of which one is height adjustable, and where necessary a brace (16) which stabilizes the truss, using spacers where necessary. The base plates are then prepared on which the trusses are fixed and the bases plates are then placed on the base which is to be covered. The posts are fixed and vertically adjusted to compensate for inclines and height differences. The bearing face of the cross support is aligned so that a continuous roof surface can be formed over the aligned supporting faces. AN Independent claim is also provided for a roof truss with cross support, posts and brace.
