<p>A vertical cutter serving for vertically cutting a green and at the same time collecting loosened mat and other loose material on the green. The vertical cutter comprises a carriage for running across the green (11), a shaft (2) rotatably mounted on the carriage at a distance above the lawn with the shaft oriented mainly crosswise to the direction of motion, an engine for rotating the shaft, a number of parallel vertical cutting blades (3) non-rotatably mounted with spacing on the shaft, and a spacer (4) mounted between each of two adjacent vertical cutting blades. The spacers (4) are provided with brushes (8) for effectively being able to sweep loosened mat and other loose material on the ground up without damaging the grass. Thereby, the conventional additional operations for removing said loose material are saved whereby the costs of maintaining the green in regular condition are reduced considerably.</p> |
