The moveable seat comprises handles (4) which are connected to the back (2) of the seat on the sides thereof. The handles (4) are fixed to the back at an average height corresponding to the level of the elbow of the user and have a round shell shape projecting over the rear of the back of the seat and determining a hollow form (43) constituting, in conjunction with the rear surface of the back of the seat, a housing which opens laterally towards the outside. Said housing is dimensioned in such a way that fingers can be inserted therein and the outer surface (45) of the handles is rounded in all directions. The edge area joining the inner surface to the outer surface is provided with an enlargement (42) which extends onto said edge and in the direction of the back of the seat.
