Meat-meal prodn machine - with compression defatting of the input broth

A row of parallel expression cylinders, each with hydraulic ram driven piston and perforated wall section at the open end, is placed below a funnel shaped feed hopper connected to each of them via slots in their upper wals near the perforated sections. At the open ends of the cylinders is a transverse horizontal drum with openings in its wall that can be selectively placed over the open ends of the cylinders by rotation of the drum about its horizontal axis using a hydraulic ram actuator. Mincing heads and a conveyor worm to deliver the minced meal to outlet ports are contained within the drum. The fat is expressed through the perforated sections of the cylinder walls then the drum is turned to the closed position and due to the shape of the drum high pressures can be used hence there is a high degree of fat extraction. The meal is of better quality than that obtained using chemical defatting of the broth.
