ELECTRON GUN FOR COLOR CATHODE RAY TUBE

PURPOSE: An electron gun for color cathode ray tube is provided to uniformly form electron beam spots all over the fluorescent screen by reducing astigmatism and improving focus characteristics caused due to the deflection yoke. CONSTITUTION: An electron gun comprises a triode unit including a cathode for emission of electron beam, a control electrode and a screen electrode; two or more focusing electrodes(16,17) installed coaxially to the triode unit so as to form a quadrupole lens; a final focusing electrode forming a large diameter lens for passage of the focusing electrodes and three electron beams; and a correction unit arranged to at least one of the focusing electrodes forming a quadrupole lens, and which allows the correcting force acting to the side electron beams to be larger than the correcting force acting to the central electron beam, when the dynamic voltage synchronized with the deflection signal is applied.
