In a special coordinate region in the UMID, position information on the place where material data is created, as altitude information of 4 bytes, longitude information of 4 bytes and latitude information of 4 bytes is stored. In a format newly proposed, by using the values "A" to "F" in the hexadecimal notation for one digit, identification information for identifying whether the altitude information represents a distance from the center of the earth or a distance, measured by using a predetermined geodesic coordinate system, from the surface of an earth ellipsoid is described to describe the distance from the surface of the earth ellipsoid as the altitude information. Therefore, it is possible to provide the format which enables the description by effectively using the significant altitude information acquired from the outside while holding the upper compatibility with the conventional format of the UMID. |
