A method of welding together two parts (12,13) which are differently loaded thermally, in particular for a turbo-machine in which the first part (12) is of steel and the second part (13) is of a nickel-based alloy involves initially applying an inter-layer (18) on the connection surface (17) of the second part (13) and in which the fraction of the additional elements is progressively reduced from the inside to the outside and that subsequently the second part (13) provided with the inter-layer (18) is welded with the first part (12). The welding is carried out using the Metal Arc Shield Gas (MAG) process, the Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) process or using a submerged-arc wire process. An Independent claim is included for a turbo-machine with a thermally loaded rotor.
