An addition copolymer which comprises at least repeating units derived from a conjugated diene and repeating units derived from a cyclic olefin with the contents of the former and latter repeating units being 10 to 99 mole % and 90 to 1 mole % respectively based on the whole of the repeating units of the copolymer and has a weight-average molecular weight of 5,000 to 1,000,000 in terms of polystyrene as determined by gel permeation chromatography and a glass transition temperature of 100 to 200 DEG C. This copolymer can be designed not only as elastomers but also as plastics.
