摘要 In a time-varying image decoding display device and a method for the device, a time-varying image signal is decoded by a time-varying image decoder (101), the decoded video signal of the YCbCr system is converted into a signal of the RGB system by an RGB matrix operation unit (103), the contrast/brightness of the converted video signal of the RGB system is adjusted by a contrast/brightness adjusting unit (104), and the adjusted video signal is displayed on the liquid crystal panel (109) of a liquid crystal display module unit (110). An operation control unit (105) conducts a control to turn on/off the RGB matrix operation unit (103) and the contrast/brightness adjusting unit (104) in accordance with the substantial frame rate of the time-varying image decoder (101) and to store the video signal from the contrast/brightness adjusting unit (104) in the video RAM (107) of the liquid crystal display module unit (110) only in the ON operation. By turning on/off the necessary video signal processing on the basis of the substantial frame rate, therefore, it is possible to suppress the entire power consumption of the device.
