PURPOSE: A recording device and a reproducing device for an optical recording medium, capable of searching text information are provided to easily search a large volume of text information included in a text data manager of a DVD like web-browsing. CONSTITUTION: A reproducing device for an optical recording medium, capable of searching text information includes a search part(19) for searching registry information on the bases of an input search parameter, and a search interface part for receiving the search parameter from a browser(11) to provide to the search part and receiving the searched text information from the search part to transmit to the browser, wherein the registry information includes a text data manager defined in a DVD(1), one of the optical disc, the search interface part is an API(Application Program Interface), and the browser includes a reading engine(120) for reading a predetermined client program inserted into a web document, the client program realizes the search interface part.
