The invention relates to a method for purifying dihydroxydiphenyl of general formula (I), wherein R and R' independently of one another represent H or a C1-C4 alkyl group, preferably H. Said method consists of a recrystallisation without additional reaction steps and toxic solvents and produces small quantities of waste.
