PURPOSE: A frame for cathode ray tube is provided to allow shorter side members of the frame to be easily elastically transformed even when the small external force is applied. CONSTITUTION: A frame(50) for CRT, comprises a pair of longer side members(60) fixed to a pair of longer sides of a shadow mask(9); and a pair of shorter side members(70) having ends fixed to both ends of one longer side member, respectively, and the other ends fixed to both ends of the other longer side member, respectively. Each of shorter side members has a base portion(71) and an elastic transformation portion(72). The elastic transformation portion has a cross section with a size different from the size of the cross section of the base portion, such that the transformation of the elastic transformation portion is easier than the transformation of the base portion.
