An insulating electrical connector housing 1, 2 (Fig. 1) which may be made from diallylphthalate, comprises at least one passageway 14 from the rear end surface 50 to the front end surface 52 and a male member 38 and a groove 40 of semi-cylindrical cross-section formed on one side for engaging complementary groove and male member on a second substantially similar housing, so locating the housings in a side by side relationship. The male member is longer than the groove and complementary groove and male member 42 and 44 (Fig. 2, not shown) may be formed on the opposite side of the housing. Apertures 26, 28 (Fig. 3) offset relative to each other and to the centre lines of the passageways each locate a lance 24 of a connector 18 in a passageway to prevent rearward withdrawal of the connector unless the lance is depressed by tool 30, shoulders 22 being formed to prevent connector forward movement. The side walls 46 of the housing (Fig. 1) are half the thickness of the passage walls 48 thereby keeping the passage separator constant when the housing engages sidewise with a similar housing or plurality of housings.</p> |
