The device for the overload detection with motor vehicles has at least one sensor, from the signal of which can be determined the load state of a vehicle, and a computer to receive and process the signal from the sensor, register the load state of the vehicle and check whether the load state exceeds a predetermined value. An indicator unit is activated by the computer when the threshold value is exceeded. More than one sensor may be fitted, and may detect different parameters such as may be related to the lighting system, inclination angle of the wheels, level control, shock absorber system or distance from the chassis to the ground.
