A apparatus for washing reusable plastic containers (10) includes means for conveying the containers through a soak tank (12), a rinsing station (14) and a drying station (16). The containers (10) are conveyed through the apparatus on carriers (22), the carriers (22) engaging respective containers (10) such that each container (10) is in engagement with a carrier (22) as it is conveyed through the soak tank (12), rinsing station (14) and drying station (16).
