The network system includes a client computer (102), a server (112), a server-side cryptographic function (130), a PKI-Bridge (124), a remote access switch (110), a client-side cryptographic function (128), a dial-up client (120), and a custom script dynamically link ed library (122). The server-side cryptographic function (130) is located on th e server (112) and provides cryptographic services. The PKI-Bridge (124) provides an interface between the server (112) and the server-side cryptographic function (130). The remote access switch (110) provides an interface between the client computer (102) and the server (112). The client - side cryptographic function (128) is loaded on the client computer (102) and provides cryptographic service. The dial up client (120) provides dial-up services to access the remote access switch (110). The custom script dynamically lined library (122) provides an interface between the dial-up client (120) and the client-side cryptographic function (128).
