COLOR FILTER, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a color filter with high resolution at a low cost and to provide the color filter manufactured by the method and a liquid crystal display device with the color filter built therein. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the color filter comprises at least a step to form a liquid crystal layer containing at least a liquid crystalline compound having at least one polymerizable group and a photo-reactive chiral agent, a step to apply light in a photosensitive wavelength region of the photo- reactive chiral agent in the layer to the layer in a picture shape and a step to photo polymerize the liquid crystalline compound having at least one polymerizable group. The method for manufacturing the color filter, the color filter and the liquid crystal display device are characterized by subjecting the liquid crystal layer to transparentizing treatment prior to the step to apply the light in the photosensitive wavelength region of the photo-reactive chiral to the layer in the picture shape.
