PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal fixing device constituted such that a nip width is increased as wide as possible within the extent of the width of a heating body, and fixation property and power saving are enhanced by improving the thermal efficiency. SOLUTION: As for the film system fixing device, a heating body holding member 3 for holding the heating body 2 which is equipped with a heat generating body on at least one side of a ceramic base material is fitted to a pressure roller supporting member 7 for supporting a pressure roller 6, and then its positioning in the carrying direction of the sheet is attained.
