PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanning optical device, which can suppress the increase in assembly cost when an imaging means is fixed to an optical box by an energizing means, and its adjusting method in a scanning optical device which adjusts an imaging means. SOLUTION: A cylindrical lens 2 is temporarily fixed by pressing in a leaf spring 12 from the peak of a projection 11A of an optical box 11 to a 1st step part 11a until the a hole 12a of the leaf spring 12 is caught and engaging it and after the cylindrical lens is adjusted, the cylindrical lens 2 is permanently fixed by pressing in the leaf spring 12 to the step part 11b of the optical box 11 until the hole 12a is caught and engaging it.
