摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that transition to bend alignment states is not complete, then pixels being kept in spray alignment states remain and the pixels are seen like luminescent defects in the liquid crystal display device of an OCB(optically compensated birefringence) mode. SOLUTION: In this liquid crystal display device, a transition nucleus generating means 14 is formed by forming a projecting part while using at least one part of members such as a-Si(amorphous silicon) layer 8a, n+ type a-Si layer 8b, first insulating layer 9 and second insulating layer 10 which constitute a semiconductor switching element 8 and which are to be used in a processes for manufacturing an array substrate. Moreover, four corners of a pixel electrode 5 are made to be chamfered shapes and a tip acute part is provided in a video signal line 6 and the four corners of the pixel electrode 5 are made to be recessed shapes which are matched with signal lines 6. By making the pixel electrode 5 to be such a shape, different two domains of a left-twisted domain and a right twisted domain are formed at the vicinity very close to the trasition nucleus generating means 14 and transition becomes to be revealed at the boundary part between the two domains.
