PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which picks up only an image of the same pattern as a plane-shaped subject having a periodic pattern without generating moire fringes due to interference between the pattern on the subject and a CCD device or deterioration of the image. SOLUTION: The image pickup apparatus has a camera 12 having an area CCD or CMOS image pickup device, a lens, a stage which grips a subject 13, a 1st driving means 10 which relatively moves the camera and stage so that the camera can pick up and image of an arbitrary part of the subject, a 2nd driving means 11 which relatively varies the distance between the subject and camera, a lighting means 14 which lights up the subject, a control means which controls the shutter of the camera and the 1st and 2nd driving means, and a recording means which stores and holds the image obtained by the camera. |
