PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring apparatus for an immunochromatographic test piece, with which the degree of the coloration of the immunochromatographic test piece can be measured with satisfactory accuracy without making the apparatus large. SOLUTION: The measuring apparatus 1 is constituted of a base part 10, a lid part 30 and a measuring optical system 40. The optical system 40 includes an irradiation optical system 50 by which the test piece 3 is irradiated with measuring light and a detection optical system 60 which detects transmitted light from the test piece 3 irradiated with the measuring light. The optical system 50 is arranged and installed at the base part 10, and it comprises a light emitting element 51 and a light guide part 52. The optical system 60 is arranged and installed at the lid part 30, and it has a linear image sensor 61 and a fiber optical plate 62. The light incident face of the optical plate 62 adheres to, or comes close to, the test piece 3 at an immunochromatographic test instrument 2 placed on a mounting part 12 for the test instrument when the mounting part 12 is covered with the lid part 30.
