PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calligraphy Japanese paper drying device to facilitate a work to hang down a Japanese paper and besides enables the whole of a calligraphy hobby room to be looked over when the Japanese papers are dried. SOLUTION: The calligraphy Japanese paper drying device comprises a lateral bar 11 having length enabling hanging down of a plurality of Japanese papers P aligned in the direction of width; a plurality of Japanese paper fixing tools 19 held on the lateral bar 11; a support member 15 to support the lateral bar 11 in a horizontal state; a main shaft 12 to hoist the lateral support member 15; and a drive mechanism 16 to rotationally drive the main shaft 12. The drive mechanism 16 is driven by a rope 14.
