PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unsaturated polyester resin coating material causing no whitening of the coating film even in an atmosphere of a high humidity while keeping the curability and grindability of the coating film. SOLUTION: The unsaturated polyester resin coating material contains an unsaturated polyester resin produced by reacting (A) a polyhydric alcohol containing two or more kinds of <=4C branched aliphatic polyhydric alcohols and a >=5C branched aliphatic polyhydric alcohol with (B) a polybasic acid and (C) a polyhydric alcohol allyl ether. The <=4C branched aliphatic polyhydric alcohol used as the component (A) is especially two kinds of alcohols selected from 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, 1,2-propanediol and 1,3-butanediol and the >=5C branched aliphatic polyhydric alcohol is 3-methyl-1,5-pentanediol.
