PURPOSE: An AGC(Automatic Gain Control) system for a digital television is provided to control the tuner AGC gains differently according to the existence of neighboring signals for improving the neighboring functions when the neighboring signals exist or the AWGN(Additive White Gaussian Noise) function in the other case. CONSTITUTION: An AGC system for a digital television includes a tuning unit(20) for controlling a tuning gain of broadcasting signals input according to a feedback comparison signal, filtering units(21,23) for attenuating the broadcasting signals output from the tuning unit into a predetermined bandwidth, and a comparison unit(30) for comparing the attenuated broadcasting signals output from the filtering units with the broadcasting signals output from the tuning unit for feeding back the comparison result to the tuning unit.
