PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition capable of realizing an image having excellent abrasion resistance and water resistance, free from clogging at a nozzle and enabling stable printing. SOLUTION: The ink composition contains at least a self-dispersible pigment, polymer fine particles having an average particle size of <=0.5 μm, a >=8C polyol or glycol ether, an anionic or nonionic surfactant, a water-miscible organic solvent and water. The polymer fine particles have a storage rigidity of <=1×10<-1> Pa in the frequency range of 0.01-10 Hz determined by a dynamic viscoelasticity measuring method under frequency sweep with distortion of 1.0. The difference of volume average particle diameters, number average particle diameters or area average particle diameters between the self-dispersing pigment and the polymer fine particles, is <=50 nm. |
