PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component which exhibits stable transmission characteristics by suppressing the microbend loss of an optical fiber coil housed inside. SOLUTION: The optical component is equipped with an optical fiber 2, a housing case 3 which houses an optical fiber 2 wound around in a coil state, and a filler 4 which is charged into the housing case 3 and impregnated with into the coil of the optical fiber 2. The coefficient of thermal expansion of a material which forms the housing case 3 is 1×10<-5> or less at a temperature of -40 deg.C or +25 deg.C.
