PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature sensor in which a thermistor is sealed in a metal case with resin, having superior responsiveness. SOLUTION: The metal case 2 holds a glass sealed thermistor 3 sealed with a resin part in a protective tube part 21. The case has such a dimensional relationship such that the difference between the inside diameterϕ1 of the protective tube part 21 and the outside diameterϕ2 of the glass sealed thermistor 3 is 0.03 mm to 1.0 mm. By this arrangement, the response time of a temperature sensor can be set to four seconds or less. Thus, the temperature sensor having superior responsiveness can be obtained as a temperature sensor for measuring the cooling water temperature of a general water cooled engine.
