PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive composition which has good adhesion and high elastic modulus, and being biodegradable. SOLUTION: The adhesive composition comprises introducing and mixing per 100 pts.mass of a solid content of an aqueous gelatinized solution of dextrin and low-viscosity starch (the dextrin: the low-viscosity starch = 10:80-90:20), about 72-550 pts.mass of an inorganic filler, about 3-30 pts.mass of boric acid and/or borax, and about 10-45 pts.mass of a starch aging inhibitor, the aqueous solution being of 40-65 mass% of a solid content, or the adhesive composition comprises introducing and mixing per 100 pts.mass of a solid content of another aqueous gelatinized solution of the dextrin andα-starches (the dextrin: theα-starches = 10:80-90:20), about 72-550 pts.mass of the inorganic filler, about 3-30 pts.mass of boric acid and/or borax, and about 10-45 pts.mass of the starch aging inhibitor, the aqueous solution being of 40-65 mass% of the solid content.
