PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To selectively provide a polysubstituted pyrolinone derivative in a high yield. SOLUTION: This method manufactures the pyrolinone derivative expressed by formula (I) by reacting the pyrolinone derivative expressed by formula (I), a metallacyclopentene expressed by formula (II) and an isocyanate of formula (III) to obtain a reaction mixture and then reacting the reaction mixture with an acid halide expressed by formula (IV) in the presence of a metal compound. (R<1> , R<2> , R<3> and R<4> are each H, a hydrocarbon group or the like, M is a metal, L<1> and L<2> are each a ligand, X is a halogen atom.).
