PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrodeposition coating composition capable of improving deposited film defects in an electrodeposition step without lowering of storage stability, lowering of electrodeposition coating voltage, stickiness inhibition of the resultant film to the under film nor lowering of anticorrosion properties and having excellent environmental compatibility, a method for cationic electrodeposition coating and a coated product obtained from the method. SOLUTION: This cationic electrodeposition coating composition is characterized as comprising a resin composition having sulfonium groups and propargyl groups and a benzoin derivative in an amount of 0.1-10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of solids in the resin composition. The method for cationic electrodeposition coating is characterized in that the cationic electrodeposition coating is the cationic electrodeposition coating composition in the method for cationic electrodeposition coating comprising carrying out electrodeposition coating of the cationic electrodeposition coating on a material to be coated. The coated product is obtained by the method for cationic electrodeposition coating.
