<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for aβ-amino acid production, which is excellently usable on an industrial scale, eventually, economically excellent, for example, excellent from the viewpoint of ecology, with which aβ-amino acid is produced under low hydrogen pressure in a shorter hydrogenation time. SOLUTION: An N-acylated 5-amino acid having concentrated enantiomer is obtained by carrying out an enantiomer-selective catalytic hydrogenation of a prochiral N-acylated Z-5-aminoacrylic acid in the presence of a compound represented by general formula (I) [R<1> , R<2> , R<3> and R<4> are each described in the specification] in a polar solvent.</p> |
