PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fan-cooled refrigerator in which noise is lowered while enhancing energy saving performance. SOLUTION: Since an air inlet frame 26 surrounding the impeller 24 of an axial fan 23 for circulating air in a storage compartment 14 is enlarged from the leeward side to the windward side like a bugle, current velocity and range of a backflow produced on the end side of the blade 24b of the impeller 24 are limited and the backflow zone is deviated from the suction zone of the impeller 24. Since the impeller 24 can suck air over the entire suction zone, work by the axial fan 23 is increased. Consequently, the rotational speed of the impeller 24 can be decreased for producing a required volume of air and noise can be reduced significantly. Furthermore, since the rotational speed of the impeller 24 can be increased within a range where noise can be reduced, heat exchange quantity of an evaporator 22 can be increased by increasing air circulation quantity as compared with a conventional refrigerator and energy saving performance exceeding that of a conventional refrigerator can be realized.
