PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens forming method which prevents defective forming of lens and forms the lens which satisfies a desired quality by adjusting an outer diameter of an optical blank to a size of 95%-100% of the outer diameter of upper die and lower die. SOLUTION: In this lens forming method, the optical blank 5 is arranged between the upper die 2 and the lower die 3 and is pressurized by the upper die 2 and the lower die 3 in the state of regulating the outer periphery of the upper die 2 and the lower die 3 by means of a barrel die 4 to mold the lens. Therein, the outer diameter of the optical blank 5 is a size of 95%-100% of the outer diameter of the upper die 2 and the lower die 3.
