PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system that can carefully make route guidance to its own vehicle by storing the running locus of the vehicle. SOLUTION: When the user of this navigation system sets a destination which is 80 km ahead of a starting point by operating keys at the starting point, a CPU 1 deduces an expected running route from the past running data of its own vehicle to the destination stored in a RAM 6 and calculates the average speeds of the vehicle at every road (ordinary roads A and C and an expressway B), the time (one hour and 32 minutes) expected to be required until the vehicle reaches the destination, and the expected arrival time (2: 42) of the vehicle at the destination based on the average speeds. Then the CPU 1 causes a displaying section 2 to display the relation between the running distance and time of the expected running route in the circumference of a map displayed on a displaying section 2 by using two-dimensional coordinates of distance and time trance f. |
