PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flexible raw yarn for airbag, having high toughness and moderate interlacing strength, and to provide a fabric for airbag having low air permeability, high flexibility and excellent containability and also high shock-absorbing ability. SOLUTION: This raw yarn for airbag is made of polyamide multifilaments and meets simultaneously the following requirements: (1) 96% sulfuric acid relative viscosity is >=3.5, (2) single filament fineness is <=3.3 dtex, (3) total fineness is 200-700 dtex, (4) tenacity is <=6.5 cN/dtex, (5) elongation is >=27%, (6) boiling water shrinkage is <=6%, and (7) stress at 10% elongation is <=3.6 cN/dtex. The other objective fabric for airbag is made from the above raw yarn.
