PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fall preventing ladder for a manhole, which can be easily attached to/detached from a receiving frame in a short time, fixed to the receiving frame without being shaken in a state of being erected, and locked as soon as tilted to an inside of the receiving frame. SOLUTION: This ladder is provided with a ladder body 1 which has a side plate 2, a bracket 5 which is attached via a shaft 6 to a long hole, formed in a longitudinal direction of the side plate 2, at a base end of the side plate 2 and which is detachably attached to the inside of the receiving frame, and an engaging part 18 which is attached at an end of the side plate 2 and engaged with the receiving frame when the ladder body 1 is tilted. The bracket 5 has an inclined plane 5A whereon an outer side surface 2A of the side plate 2 abuts when the ladder body 1 is erected and which is inclined toward an outside of the receiving frame. A distance between the long hole and the surface 2A is increased continuously toward the end of the side plate 2. The ladder body 1 can be erected/tilted while taking the shaft 6 as a center in a state wherein the shaft, 6 is located at an end, on a side of the base end, of the long hole.
