PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a high-quality activated carbon to be continuously produced from organic lees. SOLUTION: In a combustion chamber 31 of a carbonization oven 7, a cylindrical rotary kiln 32 extending almost horizontally is freely rotatably installed. On the inner wall of the rotary kiln 32, a spiral weir 33 is installed, the number of turns of the spiral weir 33 being set so as to be a value obtained by dividing the carbonization time by the time required for one rotation of the rotary kiln 32. In the spiral weir 33, a vertical weir 34 which can turn over and agitate a carbonization material in the peripheral direction of the rotary kiln 32 is installed. At the tip of the vertical weir 34, an inclined section 36 which can turn over and agitate the carbonization material in the axis direction of the rotary kiln 32 is installed. |
