PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer in which a user is informed explicitly that resource saving print is under execution and a user not utilizing resource saving print is urged to utilize resource saving print. SOLUTION: A decision is made whether an instruction for realizing resource saving print is included or not and if perfecting print is effective (Yes at S1), a plurality of imposition prints are specified on one surface (Yes at S2), or a resource saving media, e.g. recycled sheets, are set in a specified sheet feed tray (Yes at S3), a decision is made that resource saving print is performed and an LED indicative of resource saving print is lighted (S4). On the contrary, when first 5 KB is ended (Yes at S5) before the instruction for realizing resource saving print is detected (No at S1, No at S2, No at S3), an LED indicative of non-resource saving print is lighted (S6) and a similar decision is made (S7, S8, S9) even when the data subsequent to the first 5 KB is under processing so long as extra data is present (Yes at S11) and the indication of resource saving print is altered appropriately upon changing the conditions. |
