PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an active ingredient extracted from Rhododendron dauricum L. and having effects on antiallergy and further a composition, especially an antiallergic agent having the active ingredient. SOLUTION: This new orcinol derivative is represented by chemical formula (1) or the like. The composition, especially the antiallergic agent has the new orcinol derivative or an orcinol derivative represented by chemical formula (3).
