PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional plunger block, in constituting a pump or a motor having a different volume, in which a plunger port pitch diameter is different in the volume so as to necessitate compositions such as a valve plate and a port plate in conformity to specifications for every volume to increase parts items. SOLUTION: These plunger blocks 21b and 22b used for a plunger type hydraulic pump 21 or a hydraulic motor 22 are so constituted that the pitch diameter of each of plunger ports 21f and 22f formed in sliding end faces 21d and 22d is formed smaller than the plunger pitch diameter D1. Closed groove parts 21k are formed in outer circumferential parts of the respective plunger ports 21f and 22f of the plunger blocks 21b and 22b respectively.
