PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily setting cutoff walls in a shield tunnel construction, to thereby temporarily store rainwater in the tunnel. SOLUTION: The cutoff wall setting method is provided for temporarily storing rainwater W in the tunnel T under shield tunnel construction, which is formed of segments 1, 1, etc. According to the method, a receiving frame 5 is arranged on an inner surface of a main girder 2 of the segment 1 in a manner protruding from the main girder 2 toward the interior of the tunnel T by a predetermined length. After the receiving frame is fixed to the main girder 2, the cutoff walls 12a, 12b, 12c are set on a front surface of the receiving frame 5.
