PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a troidal type continuously variable transmission capable of keeping viscous fluid on a rolling surface in a predetermined thickness at a low temperature. SOLUTION: This troidal type continuously variable transmission is constituted by a pair of power rollers 1L and 1R for transmitting power between an input disk 110 and an output disk 111, and a pair of trunnions 3 for rotatably supporting the respective power rollers. A sliding contact member 100 slidably contacting with at least one of the rolling surfaces of the input disk, the output disk, and the power roller performing frictional engagement is provided for adjusting the viscous fluid attached onto the surface in the predetermined thickness.
