SYMBOL PRINTER, ITS PRINTING METHOD, DRIVER FOR SYMBOL PRINTER AND INFORMATION STORAGE MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer for printing a symbol, e.g. a bar code, in which the symbol can be printed accurately within a specified range. SOLUTION: The printer comprises a means for converting information to be displayed into a symbol, and a means for informing the size after conversion to a host unit wherein the symbol can be printed by simply transmitting a specified command and text data to be displayed by a symbol from the host unit to the printer. According to the arrangement, a decision can be made whether the symbol can be printed within a specified range or not even on the host side.
